This book was so predictable, it was laughable. What made it even worse was the fact that author assumed his readers have the brain cells of a five year old given that he felt the need to explain so many things which were totally obvious anyway. Too many far-fetched scenarios, e.g. who lives in a house then rents it out as a holiday let at a few hours’ notice and doesn’t leave any personal items behind - no food in the cupboards/fridge or freezer, no clothes in the drawers/wardrobes? Apparently the person living there managed to get all of their worldly goods into a rucksack before heading off the homeless hostel for two nights! Come on! The owners of the property lived ‘just down the road’ but failed to see the ‘for sale’ board had been taken down and yet they were wondering why the property hadn’t received any offers. Dreadful characters (lack of any character to be precise). I’ve seen found out that this author manages to write approximately one book per month - well it shows! To be fair though, I did read The Passenger first and quite enjoyed it (but this also was very far fetched in significant places). I therefore decided to read another book by this author, but definitely won’t be bothering with anymore. I think books for children are sometimes more scary than this book.
I got this book for free on Amazon. It wasn’t worth it. Who publishes these books anyway. I made it to chapter 4 and then quit. Figured anything, and I mean anything I would do instead of reading this junk would be more entertaining.
