This book is so so helpful as its does what the title say all in one pan.
My husband bought me this in my Christmas stocking as I watched Jamie on the T.V. Series
So when it was my busy friend s birthday what better present as I am sure she will get good use from it .
Good present or just treat yourself .

‘Cooked in just ONE pan’...

As with other cookbooks of similar name, other utensils are generally required (see ‘LET’S CHAT EQUIPMENT’, on page 9 ~ image below) but this, to me, is another colourfully produced and inspiring cookbook from Jamie Oliver, which often indulges in ‘a bit of a Delia’ (known as ‘cheating’ back in the day but accepted as ‘shortcuts’ these days)...although not necessarily the cheapest option in these current ‘watch-every-penny’ times.
‘THE ONE PANTRY’, on page 9, lists the 5 everyday staple ingredients that are assumed to be to hand (image below refers).

You know that Christmas is coming when a new JO book hits the market and I have already picked up some of the recipes via the Sunday Mags & the TV show of the same name...OK, the fish pie with the filo top was not a major hit here, but that recent chicken/mushroom puff pastry topped pie is absolutely amazing and can easily be tweaked:

~ ‘Simply ditch the chicken and ramp up the mushrooms!’

Measuring roughly 19.5 cm x 25 cm, the thick hardboard cover opens to 316 good quality, matte finish pages, split over main sections as per the CONTENTS at the front (image below refers):

~ CELEBRATING CHICKEN
~ THE JOY OF EGGS
~ BURGERS &TOASTIES

I really like the layout and there are a fair few recipes that serve 1.
The level of difficulty varies.
Each recipe is clear with the title with the key ingredients underneath and pictures to the left, the type of ‘vessel’ required, the time, number of servings, detailed list of ingredients + the method. Any potential tweaks follow, plus the nutritional information.

Stunning colour photography throughout, with one of the finished dish ~ always good for those of us who like to see what we are aiming for!

The book winds up with an alphabetical INDEX.

😟 The main problem I will have to face moving forward is that 'ONE' has taken up the last space on my JO shelf...and it is not hard to see why for the very last page of the chunky tome lists the 26 titles, starting in 1999!

Die meisten Rezepte bedeuten wenig Aufwand und können mit gängigen Lebensmitteln und den üblichen Standardgewürzen eines gut sortierten Haushalts gekocht werden. Klasse!

Great book!.... I have a couple of other Jamie books which I find useful to varying degrees. I consider myself an average type of guy when it comes to cooking/eating. I sorta want to eat well, with tasty, healthy(ish), varied dishes, but am just bloomin lazy and need help with inspiration and easy to follow instructions for cretins. I don't really care about the washing up aspect of the One Pan idea, but it's the different timings that caught me out before - that's what I love about this book - it all goes in the same pan. To me, (who doesn't have any aspirations to be any sort of kitchen whizz.... ever) this is the best bit about the book - One Pan! It helps me produce really nice meals quickly and easily, that I'm proud of, look good and taste great, and builds my confidence to not be scared of cooking, and get a bit more involved in cooking myself something half decent to eat. It's by far my most used cook book, and I'd say that I have plans to try about 90% of the dishes in there, as opposed to probably less than 50% of the other books I have. I've already done 20+ dishes from the book, and have surprised myself that quite a few are vegetarian (I do like my meat) and they have really impressed me that veggie dishes can be so good, so I count that as a valuable lesson learnt. Love this book!

Bought to try a recipe I had seen on Tv. Very tasty and quick to prepare. Items difficult to find- chestnuts and fresh pasta - also expensive. Nice book though.

Book is what I wanted but delivery was poor as rammed through my letterbox.
Also, some stains on book (see images) looks like a spilt liquid.
Not happy about quality but can't be bothered with sending back item as this will cost me more in fuel taking it to Amazon returns shop or post office that deals with Amazon returns.
