One of the best selling cookbooks, and it is easy to see why.

I absolutely love Joanne Molinaro's calm, wise, generous style. I also love the personal content she puts in along with the ingredients. It comes through in all her YouTube clips (which add another dimension to this book, and are really worth watching), and it comes through in every one of her printed recipes here, whether traditional or fusion.

This isn't just a wonderful cookbook for vegans, it suggests new ways of preparing food for vegetarians and carnivores alike. She offers a flexible, sensible cuisine that produces truly delicious, nutritious meals.

Highly recommended to all foodies.

Not only is this book absolutely gorgeous (seriously—it would make a great “coffee table” book!), it’s so thoughtfully put together and the recipes are amazing. There’s an entire section in the front where she explains the different staples used in Korean cooking and lists her favorite brands. It was a lifesaver for me as I waded through the aisles at H-mart. My adult son has eaten a LOT of Korean food (his grandma on his dad’s side is from Korea) and, even as an omnivore, he gave these dishes his enthusiastic approval.

Really splendid book, full of moving storytelling, as well as amazing vegan recipies which are perfectly detailed, and accompanied by gorgeous photographs.
To be recommended to anyone loving asian cuisine and flavors.

Well I anxiously waited for this cookbook. It was initially supposed to come out sooner. When it didn’t, I promptly emailed Joanne to see if I missed it or what. She was kind enough to email me back and let me know the projected release date and said her publisher wanted MORE recipes. (Not surprised. She’s amazing) I’ve been following Joanne for a while on IG, and I so appreciated her sharing her versions of these classic Korean recipes. I am a Korean American, and the one thing I sorely regret, is not learning how to cook from my mother. I learned on my own so I never really knew how to cook Korean food. It was quite intimidating. This cookbook does a good job of giving both the experienced cook and the novice cook good instruction. I’ve made quite a few of these recipes and they have all been amazing. Each time I say “this is not like my moms… definitely better.” LOL. I wanted to write my review now, after I had made quite a few of recipes. I also chose now because I had heard this cookbook got a one star review based on availability of ingredients. I must say, I lived in big cities all my life and now live in the country. I agree that yes, when you’re in a small town like mine, it could be more difficult to find these ingredients. But isn’t that for anything that isn’t classic “American” type ingredients? Did someone really buy a Korean cookbook and think they didn’t need some Korean ingredients? I mean… I live waaaayyy out in the country with one neighbor in sight and I can get ahold of the ingredients I need if I really want them. (Hello online orders). I don’t think it’s fair to rate someone’s hard work so poorly when the issue is a user error, rather than one of the product. If you’re unhappy with your own lack of will to complete the task you set for yourself, be disappointed in yourself more than anyone else. This cookbook is great and I truly feel blessed for it. I miss Korean food so much and there are I think 2 restaurants in my town and surprisingly enough, not Korean! LOL. Anyways, wonderful cookbook, and good recipes. She has a way of Koreanizing dishes and is very creative. If you have the fiery pasta, it reminds you a lot of tteokboki which is amazing for me because I can’t get rice cakes here! Love it! I felt that it was necessary to offset the negativity of that one star review because that’s simply not fair. This cookbook was clearly very well put together and beautifully done. Don’t hate. Appreciate. Thanks, Joanne for everything.

I’m not a vegan nor a vegetarian. But life has shown me that eating veggies is a fantastic way to help my body keep on going healthily ! The recipe in this book are very interesting and I already am testing few. I even learnt how to fry tofu with the author’s Instagram! Im sure that as much as I explore the book it’ll make me happier!

As an ardent reader of cook books since my childhood. I have to give this one five stars.
I love the pictures. Both of her family and the food.
Her Treatise helps the reader to bond with the author and her family.
I intend to try all but two or three of the recipes.
The recipes appear easy to follow.
I would reccommended buying it to all who love Asian and Korean cuisine. Or those who have never tried. This is a great cook book to start with.

I love Asian food and I have started becoming vegetarian. But Asian recipes mostly have pork in them. This is a good book to start on a healthier journey without compromising love for tasty Asian food.
