Not very durable

I am a known shoe-wrecker because of my mega size and the weight that goes with it, but even accounting for that these fell apart pretty easily.

Not even 6 months in the bottom part started separating from the heel, to the point where the sole effectively came off halfway. I fixed it with superglue and it sort of holds together but that's definitely a big disappointment - and that's over the winter months, where I barely leave my house so the shoe didn't even get a lot of wear aside from work and a grocery trip or two. No outdoor activity, no hiking, nothing of the sort.

Really disappointed. These look sturdy and solid, even blocky; but they're not well put together.

I've purchased these twice in both black and brown (cordovan). They're a decent shoe when new and hold up pretty well. They fit me well, are comfortable, and are a nice conservative style that go with a range of clothing for the office and social activities.

Laces are garbage. Lucky to get 3 months of wear out of them and they'll suddenly snap, while replacements from Walmart will last the next 18 months. For some reason, the black leather has a dull, grainy, pebbly finish that won't take polish easily. They black never really looks up to par. Would be great if it matched the cordovan finish which is quite nice and polishes well to a very respectable shine.

After about 6 months, the soles will crack across the width in multiple places, letting water in and making them useless on rainy days. The inners will deteriorate and then the heals will collapse from the inside. The uppers will still look fine, but otherwise the shoe will be unwearable. This takes about two years give or take.

The price isn't bad even with the above. I hate to toss a pair of shoes that looks decent but after two years, for me, that's all these shoes last and I'm OK with that since that seems to be the world we live in. If they had a "pro" line that had better heal and sole construction for a modest price increase, I'd be all over it.

1. Very good-quality on the surface of the leather upper .
2. Accepts polish well. Cleans up easily.
3. Good traction.
4. Very good price (?)
5. Very cheap shoe laces. (~3 month life?!. . . vs 3 years)
6. Very Cheapish sole quality. Thin and not durable. Almost all of my walking is on carpet and they still wear quickly. However, they more durable than marshmallows and thicker than paper. After not much walking, the heel will wear out and reveal that the heel is hollow!
7. Semi-cheapish bonding of sole to sides.
8. Cheap support inside shoe at heel. After some months, heel of foot falls thru shoe and into the hollow heel!!! This caused some foot pain until I go around to engineering a "bridge" to support the heel of my foot to keep it out of the "cavern".

If these shoes had Goodyear Neolite soles and durable laces, WOW!, and if the sides of the shoes would not separate from the sole... it would be a SUPER value. Neolite soles are "the cat's meow"! I am considering doing a ShoeGoo modification. It is almost as if Dockers licensed someone else to produce these! Tough to find these in a larger W I D EEE size.
Although they are of low quality, I buy them because they fit my heel and toes well. I've been buying these for a couple decades (or more??). Decades ago the quality was better. I think they are just using up the goodwill of the old name when they sell shoes like these. Will I buy again? Yes, they are $ cheap. I updated the number of stars from 4 to 3 as I got ready to buy another pair.

I've worn out two pair. These are quality shoes. My only real complaint is they just aren't comfortable all day for me. Bottom of my feet burn in them.

Rubber sole lacks quality

Nice comfortable shoe.
Bought in March 2019 then had 18 months of pandemic enforced work-from-home. So after 3 years of no use to very light use the leather uppers are still like new and the soles show only small amount of wear, but the low quality rubber used on the soles is splitting at grooves that make the tread pattern.

Quality has slipped within the last year - laces tearing after maybe 3 weeks of use

I've ordered around 10 pairs of these for routine daily wear over the last 4 or 5 years. The pair I ordered a few weeks ago immediately gave me issues when I went to re-string the laces - they seemed hard to pull through the last pair of eyelets. I noticed over time that the eyelets seemed to be actually grabbing onto the fabric of the laces - and this was on both sides of the laces on both shoes. Within maybe 2 or 3 weeks of wearing them routinely, both sets of laces have developed tears in their fabric, which in prior pairs might happen after 7 or 8 months of wear.

I attempted to submit a complaint via the Dockers website, but they only emailed me a warranty return form - meaning I would need to incur the expense to mail this pair of shoes back (and wear something else to work in the mean time, I guess?), and then cross my fingers that their QA folks would correctly identify the sharp edges on the eyelets or just declare "wear and tear" and send them back. I just hope they improve their factory QC process and catch the issue with the eyelets. I might try an Amazon return for a new pair and see if this one was just a fluke - I'll adjust my review accordingly if and when the issue seems resolved.

I like this shoe a lot, but each of three pairs I bought in last two years have lace eyelets that chew and destroy the shoelaces, especially the lousy ones that come with the order. I end up filing/sanding the offending eyelets to avoid needing new laces every week. A small but frustrating feature/defect, to be sure.

Good Basic Shoe

This is a good basic shoe I've purchased several times. It's simple in design and goes with dress pants or khakis. I have both the black and burgundy versions. They last me about 5 years, wearing them about 3 times a week. I work in an office building with carpeted floors so they get minimum wear on the carpeted surface. I wear a size 12 sneaker, but these shoes fit me at size 11. After 5 years, the heals wear through and the soles crack along the width where the shoe bends while walking. For the price, that's about as long as I'd expect them to last.
