My daughter is 10 and when she gets a good book she absolutely loves reading! I bought this book after searching for ages to find hard to put down books, it seemed to have good reviews and I liked the audio sample I listened to. When looking loads of people recommended Jaqueline Wilson which she has read, but I really wanted something she wouldn’t want to put down and this book did not disappoint! I gave it to her on her birthday in early November and she has finished it before the end of November and is asking if I can order the next book in the series for her! Such a fab story with a great sense of humour and at times hilarious for me to listen to her read, a real joy! We can’t recommend this book highly enough and will now be buying as many Katie Kirby books as we can find!
My 9 yr old daughter has dyslexia and loves stories but where reading is tricky for her she's always been reluctant. Over the Xmas holiday she picked up this book which she has had on a shelf a year and read it in 3 days. She was reading all day and evening ☺️ It was wonderful and luckily Santa brought her the next two books in the series which she has now read too! She is so proud of herself as are we. Thank you Lottie Brooks!
My 8 year old daughter devoured this book and its sequels within a matter of days. She's quite a narrow reader in that she basically only loves the 'confessional diaries of a dorky girl' genre, but if yours is similar, this is perfect for fans of the Dork Diaries, Cookie!, The Accidental Diary of Bug, etc.
I bought my daughter this for her 9th birthday (on 7th December) and now we're on the 21st, she has read it twice! I've skipped through it, and it's brilliantly funny, and relatable! (I mean, if you're a bit of a prude parent maybe wait until your child is in year 6 or 7...) but ultimately, it's doing a better job than I of letting her know what to come!!
I also already ordered (via santa) the 2nd and 3rd books for Christmas!
