A good story let down by the dialogue.

Dr Amit Burnam is an absolute villain, to the point of almost comic proportions. He is completely obsessed with the theory of cryogenics, believing it is possible to freeze a dying human being and keep them in a cryogenic state until medical advances can cure the condition which ails them, allowing them to be brought back to life and cured. He professes his obsession comes from wanting to find a cure for his terminally ill wife, Alisha, but it is soon clear this is not the case at all. Amit is a bully and a domestic abuser, who keeps his downtrodden wife prisoner in their own home. He practices his theory in the specially adapted shed at the bottom of his garden, totally certain he will be the first person to master the art of freezing and reanimating a body. When nosy next door neighbour, Emily, becomes suspicious about his behaviour and Alisha's terror in becoming her friend, he realises she has to be dealt with. The story definitely makes you want to read on, but it is hard to find any empathy for Emily who is such a busy body, and as mentioned, Amit's villainy is at times over the top. The dialogue lets this book down, coming across as too contrived and unnatural. It's not a bad book, though.

Talk about a strange book. Could this possibly happen, who knows . Nothing is impossi ble anymore. The problem I had with this book, is why was Alisha not even trying to stand up for herself and their Eva. I ,would believe any mother will not let anyone try to hurt their child. This being said how did Dr. Amit get to take drugs , order suppies to his house, take Mrs. Lynes Jones out the hospital, and no questions asked. Emily is the one who suffered the most all she wanted to do was help Alisha and her daughter Eva. Then there is the end which will make you think even more to why did Alisha put Dr. Amit in to the cryonics, so they could help him. Wasn't Alisha afraid of him? So who really used who ? Very strange story and yet scary. Well worth a read.

Not my usual read I love gripping crime and drama.
This book did not grip me but still I ploughed through to see what happened next!
For me it had many aspects of that wouldn’t really happen .....the amount of missing hospital drugs, - procedures ensure checking...the old lady whisked out of hospital -too bizarre .even the unknown child -social services would have been involved from birth . Maybe if there had been better research or more explanation of how it could be made to happen .
it just seems the writer has no knowledge of hospital processes and to insult the anaesthetic team wow that’s really low they are a very skilled group and don’t *just out people to sleep* there is a much wider skill set!
Other aspects such as police investigation lacked reality too
So over all I read it over a period of time as I picked holes in each chapter and kept another book on the go that I could really enjoy
Too many unreal aspects for this to be great sorry

It was OK at first and quite intriguing but as the storyline unfolded it became more and more unbelievable and improbable, it was confusing in places as she used characters and places from another book 'The Cottage' which gave the impression she was running out of ideas for her story.

This book was quite interesting and did keep my attention until the end although I must say that the plot was unlikely in the extreme and events at times seemed ridiculous. There were a few distasteful events in the tale and the villain was almost pantomime like in his behaviour although there was nothing funny about the depth of his evil.
There was enough of a story for me to want to see how things would eventually pan out, but I'd have to say that the twist in the tale did nothing to enhance the book for me.

Was gripped had to know what happened,reminded me Abit of frankenstein,as he experimented on animals or a frog I think but the frog was dead but obviously frankenstein wanted to bring the dead back, I enjoyed the book yes Abit warped but I've read equally warped things so I'm probably warped too 🤣

The name of this book attracted me to the novel but it was not at all what I expected. It wouldn't be a typical book that I would read but i read the first couple of chapters and it got my interest. I thought the start of it was a bit gruesome but as the story went on I thought it was very good and it kept me hooked . It is a very unrealistic story but it was interesting at the same time

Ok this book kept me reading but was quite far fetched. About a secretive strange couple and a nosey neighbour. Very gory in parts with a bit of a weird ending.

I did not enjoy this story. I just wanted it to end. Perhaps this was not my type of book. It’s written well. I finished it. The ending did not really make sense. I don’t know that the author is setting up for a sequel, but that makes no sense either. Overall would not recommend.
