Ho il libro da cui é stato estratto questo e-book, ma se devo viaggiare il formato elettronico della ricetta per il latte di soia e il tofu e' indispensabile: non sono obbligata a portarmi dietro il libro!
I passaggi sono perfettamente descritti, ci sono anche tre utilissimi video e il risultato e' assolutamente come descritto.

Great Tofu at Home!

I have made two separate batches of Tofu since downloading this e-book (I have made the Block Tofu recipe). And both were a real success and a vast improvement on the shop bought alternative.

Although the actual processes involved in making tofu are not that complex, the timing, space and method requirement some planning, and organisation.

The recipes are quite long-winded, although that is not a negative, there is a lot of detail. What I really liked is that Andrea instructs you not only on how to make your tofu, but also how to set up a little production line in order to make the process as smooth and tidy as possible.

The only reason this got 4 stars, and not 5 was because it was an ebook. This is the first time I have used my Kindle for a recipe book, and I would not opt for this again. Much prefer cooking from printed books! With the Kindle it is quite time consuming to flit between different sections of the book (which I needed to for this process ie, making moving between the Soya milk recipe and the Tofu recipe.)

Maybe it will be available in print soon!?

Definitely get this (very inexpensive) resource if you are at all interested in pursuing tastier, fresh tofu!

This book got me from Tofu Zero to Tofu Hero in one day - although buying a small plastic Tofu mold & an additional bit of cheesecloth/muslin is highly recommended & makes life much easier. It is pretty much idiot proof, just soak your beans overnight then in around an hour you're looking at your first batch. Its got detailed, clear instructions that are simple to follow & relevant photos. & without this book, I would have been lost, so for the money it is amazing value. I would have liked the "enhanced" version, but my Kindle is too old to cope with multimedia, so it wasn't an option for me unfortunately. This still has all the info that you need though, so the basic version will get you organized. In next to no time you will have loads of Tofu & will never look back...

Easy to understand. A great introduction to stringing with tofu. I made soya milk and it is much nicer than the supermarket stuff, and I know what has gone into it.

If You Plan to Make Soy Milk or Tofu, Buy This Book!

This is a wonderful book! I've now used it to make soymilk and tofu several times and the instructions are great! Making your own soymilk and tofu is great because you just can't beat the taste and quality. Andrea Nguyen advises the reader to buy a nonstick pot--DO IT! The pot scrubbing after making my first couple of batches of soy milk was the only downside. I purchased the T-fal B36262 12-quart stockpot and I'm very happy with it! I also highly recommend Laura Soybeans, also available on Amazon. They are non-GMO, grown in Iowa, and create great soymilk and tofu. Another note from the book: if you're going to make tofu, buy some unbleached muslin to use when you strain the soy milk. I bought some 100% cotton muslin by AK Trading Company on Amazon and cut it into 24" by 24" squares to keep in my kitchen drawer. They work great!

This is a mini primer on making your own or homemade tofu products in small batches. Andrea provides her expertise and knowledge on how to prepare soybeans for soaking and making soy milk and other tofu products. This kindle version is a great introduction, and handy for an experienced foodie who wants to make tofu at home.
There is another book written by Andrea herself which is a similar context which is The Asian Tofu. 1st chapter is how to make soy milk and prepare making different tofu products except tofu noodles. Chapters 2 to 7 are divided into recipes that describe how each tofu product is made with. It is also a great tofu book which has other Asian influences in cooking: Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etcetera.
This primer is a good substitute, if you intend to make homemade soy milk and other tofu products.

I wanted to start making my own tofu and picked up this "mini book" to learn how to do it.

This book is a great reference book. Andrea breaks down the steps to making soy milk and tofu. The soy milk is delicious and isn't full of preservatives. I used the soy milk recipe to make pressed and silken tofu. The resulting tofu was really delicious, much better than what I am able to get in the grocery store.

I highly recommend this book. It is a lot easier to make it yourself than you think and well worth the effort!
