Very informative book with a scientific and medical approach to gut health. I would have liked to have seen more recipes and I am a visual person so colour is important to me, however, there are no photos of the recipes
As this book is written by a doctor I expected more in-depth information. I felt much was just chatty talk and although pleasant not that helpful. There are research studies considered but generally I was a little disappointed although recipes are nice.
Fascinating and well-written book about food. Contains a number of recipes that use use the principles discussed in the book, but there are no pictures! I'm not a child who need to see a picture book but who ever heard of a recipe book without photos?
I followed saliha when she was on master chef - all her food was so scrumpy! Bought her first cook book - amazing! My husband loves using that as well. This book is so unexpected and we both absolutely love it. With her having such a strong medical background and being a foodie she’s the perfect abs only person that could write something like this. Brilliant for learning more about the body and how our body responds to certain foods and yummy recipes. She also shares amazing recipes on Insta too!
I throughly enjoyed reading this fantastically written book! The author, Saliha, has an incredible sense of humour, full of personal anecdotes. Some of her stories and experiences growing up, also took me back to memory lane which was wonderful! I chuckled quietly to myself throughout the read. In addition, I loved all the detailed scientific information in the book which provided a useful insight into the digestive system! Saliha has also provided some amazing, mouthwatering recipes throughout the book. Overall, I highly recommend this book!
As a specialist gastroenterology dietitian with a personal interest in delicious food and good health I found this a charming read with a very approachable blend of personal anecdotes, excellent scientific information and stunning flavoursome recipes. I made three of the dishes last night and the family are still raving about them, plus I have the added joy of knowing that their guts are benefiting too. I have just ordered two more copies as gifts.
I bought this as a gift however couldn’t put it down once I started it myself. Took my friend out to lunch instead and kept the book. I may buy more copies at Christmas for gifts to those who would enjoy it and find the information as fascinating as I have.
A cheaply produced book, on poor quality paper, selling for a premium price. This is unfortunate as it detracts from the well written content. I don’t expect to pay hardback prices for paperback production. Wait for the paperback before you buy!
