Trovano nelle offerte mensili di Amazon dei volumi kindle in lingua inglese una miniera di pregevoli testi a prezzo stracciato (spesso meno di un caffè). Sono volumi riccamente illustrati e mediamente costosi: se venissero acquistati in formato cartaceo presso una libreria "di quartiere", come sperano i geni governativi italici che hanno ostacolato le vendite online di libri riducendo al 5% lo sconto ottenibile sul prezzo di copertina, tra cambio "librario", dogana e dazio si spenderebbe 50 volte tanto. E resterebbero in uno scaffale britannico. Invece chi vuole acquistarli in formato kindle (specie in offerta) puo' anche solo sfogliarli ("quasi gratis") godendosi foto e tavole su un tablet grande senza subire sciocche imposizioni dei geni italici. Apposto.

I have no idea why it took me so long to discover this book! These are traditional recipes made special. Shami kabab is usually made with beef, not venison; kababs don't usually have potato in them; fish pakoras are not usually made with sea bream. If anyone is worried about it not being 'authentic', don't be: we maybe wouldn't eat like this day to day, but that is what the author was trying to achieve - and that doesn't mean the recipes aren't representative. There are tons of South Asian cookbooks out there, and this one stands out for what she's done with traditional recipes. It's not necessarily fusion either, it's just... grandified. (Yes, I know that's not a word.)

This is what I hoped several other books would be... notably Darjeeling Express, which I had to send back because it was too watered down, with the exception of one or two winners.

Quite a few of the recipes are complex but not too involved. You could use them on a weeknight but you probably won't - they are presentation-worthy dishes. As one other reviewer noted, this is not a book for vegetarians. (Case in point: one of the recipes is chicken stuffed with lamb.)

Wish there were a few more photos, but the ones that are there are beautiful. And props to Amazon for actually packaging this well - for once it an Amazon book arrived without damage!

Fantastic cookbook, I'm really impressed with the recipes I have cooked so far - Chicken Thigh & Sour Mango Curry, Sticky Tamarind and Orange Salmon, Mughal Baked Cod Korma and Malai Chicken Bites are all amazing. We also enjoyed the Roasted Sweet Potato Dish and Sea Bream Pakoras. This book has made me really excited about cooking again and can't wait to try all the other recipes. Ingredients are easy to source from Amazon, Ocado and Waitrose. A lot of them I already have as I love Indian recipes by Anjum Anand. Saliha's recipes are much more subtle but really stunning. Can't wait for her next cookbook.

Every once in a while you find a cook book that stands out from the crowd; this is one such book. It is written beautifully with equally beautiful illustrations and photography. The recipes are presented simply and result in dishes that are sublime. What is particularly good is that the ingredients for the dishes are not a mile long with ingredients that are impossible to track down. They have been cleverly adapted to what most people already have or can easily obtain. All the dishes are easily achievable and a lot of them would even be a good starting point for a complete novice. So give it a go. A must have book.

Every page of this book shows author’s passion towards cooking and experimenting with ingredients.

I am fascinated by the contemporary yet quick mouthwatering recipes in the book.

Detailing for the precise quantity of ingredients is really helpful.

The most commendable thing is that my nine year old daughter has actually read the whole book even though she is not into desi food at all.

My daughter is so impressed by the the design, colourful theme and easy to follows recipes that instead of making slime she has decided to take over the kitchen over the weekend, pick up a recipe and give it a go ... Ofcourse I will help but only as her sous chef😀.

Whole family looks forward to the culinary dishes over the weekend.

Great book ... great recipes .... part of my cooking routine already!

What can I say, the cover, the print quality, the presentation & on top of everything the recipes & the detail instructions all make up for an easy to follow, very pleasant to look at & a delight to read recipe book. I specially love the way she's devided the index into diff sections like light lunches & picnic etc makes it very easy to find the kind of recipe u're after rather than going through the whole book. Tried a few salads & the Sticky Tamarind & Orange Salmon over the weekend & they were delicious. Very unusual combinations I must say but they work beautifully. Can't wait to try more. All in all very satisfied with the purchase
