Della Van Hise is a native of Florida, transplanted to California at the age of 21, who has subsequently sunk her roots into the high desert near Joshua Tree National Park. She has not personally seen any aliens since around 1992, but there is rumored to be a secret UFO base underneath her house. Della's writing started around age 11, when she would create some of the very earliest "fan fiction" on an old Smith Corona typewriter. No, not an electric one. A real antique, made of metal and heavier than a wet coffin. Her first professional novel was best-selling KILLING TIME - the controversial Star Trek book which was the foundational plot for the STAR TREK "Reboot" movie in 2009. More recently, Della has written extensively in the non-fiction genre, with titles such as Quantum Shaman, Scrawls On the Walls of the Soul, Questions Along the Way, and Into the Infinite. These 4 books comprise "The Quantum Shaman Series." If you enjoyed the works of Carlos Castaneda or Don Miguel Ruiz, you'll enjoy the non-fiction works of Della Van Hise. In addition, Della has written professionally for Tomorrow Magazine and other prominent science fiction publications. Her most recent fiction works include Sons of Neverland, (an award-winning vampire novel); The Effect of Moonlight on Tombstones (a collection of poetry) and Coyote (a romantic science fiction novel combining the mystical aspects of martial arts, coming of age, and personal sacrifice). This book confirms what I have thought to be the truth for a very long time even before my teenage years, the world as we know it is a game of illusions and deception rigged from the start in favour of those who have had the power and wealth for millenia; sure every now and then a newcomer is allowed into the ranks to replenish the gene stock and keep up the appearance of fair play but as was spoken in William Shakespeare's Hamlet " There is more between heaven & earth Horatio than all your philosophies can foretell. "

It's a fun story, but don't try to base a spiritual path on it. The chapter on Reincarnation will be a complete giveaway to any awake awareness.

The false self is not real, it's just a part of the equally unreal ego that holds beliefs, opinions and positions based upon manufactured memories. Check with any Neuroscientist, or any awakened Buddhist, Sufi, etc. Nothing of the ego can survive the death of the physical unit. There are no 'levels' of enlightenment.

The author apparently teaches this fiction in workshops and people probably pay her for it. Maybe someone should start classes based on Richard Bach's books too?

Loved the book. Appreciated the fresh perspective on the Toltec Path. The authenticity of the biographical experience as reveal through the eyes of Della & Orlando shone through, paralleling Jane Robert's Seth experiences.

This book can be read on a variety of levels. It might be a work of sleight of hand by the author. Is it real? Is it fiction? Is it a spiritual adventure? Is it a guide book? It's written well, and offers insights that are not mainstream, yet are also found in various philosophical systems, old and new. It's intriguing to find combined concepts of quantum physics with "ordinary" and not so ordinary living through the author's personal experiences. I find much of an allegorical nature. After all, did people argue with Dante about whether he really traveled through Hell and all seven levels of it? The author has a strong unblunted point of view, which, while I may not agree with everything, is nonetheless refreshing.

Della is not a member of a formal Toltec lineage (as she states in the afterward), nor one to buy into 'nagual-ism' as a new religion. She does find much truth in those teachings and uses the language in order to convey her teachings. While the 'old Seers' were devastated during the invasion of the European barbarians, the 'new Seers' were refined and purified, bringing forth the essence of the ancient traditions. I believe we are now in the third phase, as the mechanical materialism has swept the world, We are the 'modern Seers'. Having access to all traditions and learning from anything we may. We are never trapped by one system.

Della uses language that varies from literary to poetic, as she tries to use our limited set of words to expand beyond the confines of ordinary awareness. I do not agree with everything she states, but then no one should ever fall into another person's path. She does not expect, and indeed warns, against such ways. There are times in the book which are very revelatory. It is always illuminating to See others on the path and the ways they understand. Of course, in the luminous realm, the mind and words fall away, so all these lyrical structures are support in the journey.

Note that she is not a quantum scientist. If you are looking for hard science, say the correlation of Bell's Theory to parapsychology PSI phenomena, it is not here. She even states 'my molecules' at one point, with no comprehension of the vastness of Avogadro number or the fluid exchange of molecules. She is a Seer living with awareness of the energy body. No person can judge another to say how advanced they are, but all the 'modern Seers' are contributing to open up the bubble of our society. This is the work we share. I look forward to reading more of her work.
