Oh Lord! I have only just discovered Lisa Jewell having read Then She Was Gone and I Found You, both of which I REALLY enjoyed. Randomly I now buy Thirty Nothing and two chapters in I can't stand it. I recognise this as time honoured chicklit but as a 70 year old I well know that human thinking; attraction, jealousy, passion and desire, doesn't alter that much over the centuries and Dig and Nadine's shallow, self absorbed characters would, in real life, both end up needing some serious counselling and probably have a breakdown to boot. Not sure if I can bite the bullet and continue but maybe they will go off on a sailing holiday and never be heard of again. Now that would be a relief.

This story bordered on the ridiculous with characters who were shallow, self absorbed, and almost caricatures. Perhaps I was too old and cynical for this read as I found myself eye rolling far too often! I have read other titles by this author and thoroughly enjoyed them so this was my first disappointment.
Anyway if you enjoy an easy read with a story which won't stretch your imagination then curl up with this book.

Love Lisa’s books usually. Read quite a lot of them during lockdown. Think this one was written a while ago and didn’t really fit with her newer psychological novels.
It was funny in parts . Characters a bit over exaggerated though and the ending was predictable.
Just bought her latest novel - looking for a more satisfying read

This was the first Lisa Jewell book I ever owned and I fell in love with it! Dig 'n' Deen have their childhood friendship thrown into the air when Delilah comes along...Dig predictably falls for her while Nadine is pushed aside to watch from the sidelines. As usual, there is a lot of reminiscing re various events that have passed, which, personally I loved as you feel more in tune with each character the more you read about each one, but still you find yourself sympathising, laughing out loud and pitying each character in turn. Dig, with his shy demeanour, Nadine with her ever growing things that she finds she likes about Dig but cannot come to terms with it...until of course, THAT night with the girls and leaves THE voicemail for Dig. Of course, the ending is as you expect...or is it?? Brilliant work by Lisa Jewell once again! Curl up with a cosy night, glass of wine and enjoy!

I have read a lot of Lisa Jewel books and enjoyed them. This one, however, just didn’t do it for me. The characters were unbelievable and I found no connection with any of them. Sorry, I nearly gave up half way through but read it to its very boring predictable end.
