As with all her previous books I read it in no time as I just couldn't put it down. Just when you thought the plot was coming to an end there was another twist to the story.
She describes all her characters so well you feel you know them.
I loved this book, in fact I would say it was my favourite yet. Dont want to go into any detail about the story as I wouldn't want to spoil it for everyone. All I can say is, if you are a fan of this type of book or a fan of Lisa Stone dont waste any time buying it I promise you will be hooked from the first chapter.
Hope there is more to come

There is far too much narrative so it’s like reading a report written by a ten-year-old child. In fact, I have read better prose from children in a creative writing class. One of the first rules of any writer is to master the concept of ‘showing, not telling.’ Quote – “Undeterred (she had no fear of him now),” is lazy writing and makes me wonder how much they are paying editors these days at the author’s publishing house. Cliches abound such as in the use of “like a cat on a hot tin roof.”
Finally, in the pretentiously titled ‘Suggested topics for reading-group discussion’ section in the back matter the author uses the phrase “Lisa Stone thrillers are fast-paced narratives …”
Fast-paced? Really? Sorry, not for me or any other Lisa Stone/Cathy Glass book.

I liked the flow it made for ease of reading, how we were told who done it from the onset turned refusal guess who done it on its head which was different I was unsure of where the story would end up . Very clever very good read must read the other thrillers now.
God bless Lisa x

The character of Leila was given the dialogue of an educated adult, not a street-wise, neglected 8 year old. All the dialogue was awful and read like a soap opera script but Leila’s was laughable.
The plot was absurd. An eight year old travels the country with a bag full of money, staying in hotels with homeless women? SERIOUSLY?
Really have no idea where all the rave reviews come from, but if anyone has got the impression that foster carers are paid due to the misinformation given in this book, think again. Foster carers are not paid as this could affect their benefits/tax etc. An allowance is paid which is for the child’s clothing allowance, food and pocket money etc.
Please don’t think that this piece of badly written fiction has anything to do with correct procedures.
