I thought this was an extremely well written book with great and engrossing storytelling. The characters, specially the main ones, were well developed; they really came to life and their interactions and dialogue seemed authentic. This is the type of story I can easily picture being a movie or series. My only criticism, and it's a biggie, is that the Alex reveal was very obvious. That doesn't always ruin a story for me but in this case it did because it was so very early on in the story that I figured it out. Partly because of obvious clues and partly because I've read this reveal in other crime novels; it's a bit stale and so it was disappointing that the author wasn't more clever in that regard.
I'm not sure why; maybe because the names/roles seemed similar as there really weren't all that many of them, but I had trouble keeping the characters in this story straight. However, despite my problems (dyslexia???) it turned out to be a pretty decent story. If I had a complaint it would be that the author apparently had trouble wrapping it all up at the end. We had a nice little surprise reveal of the true villain then trekked back over the same ground several times to tie up all the loose ends. By the time we hit the last one this reader was thinking "about time" rather than "good story!!"
The first two books fantasic and I strongly recommend reading these in order. Alone in the Woods was just as good as the first the two. I was so into the book I literally didn't see the twist coming and read right over it and had to go "WAIT???!! WHAT??!!" And go back to reread what I had just read, it took my mind a second to put it all together. I consider this a sign that not only is it a wonderful read that you can really get into but easy, you're so into you're cruising along and don't see the twists and turns in front of you until you slam into the tree!
Charly Cox is an incredible author and has already sold me on her future books.
This is the 3rd book in the Detective Alyssa Wyatt series and it was soooo good!!!!
This book has everything!!!! Murder, mayhem, serial killer, stalking, awesome characters (I love revisiting characters), Evil Characters, twists / turns, non-stop page turning action and I truly love that I did not figure out who dunit!!!
Be ready to devour this book as quickly as you can. As with Charly Cox's other books, this one is full of twists and turns. This entire series is addictive. Charly Cox brings Alyssa Wyatt and her team back to solve a gruesome double murder and to try to find two missing teens before they, too, are murdered. All of the characters were well-developed and believable. The plot line was tense and exciting - a real nail biter. Charly Cox has quickly become one of my favorite thriller authors. If you love fast-paced, twisted thrillers, don't miss out on this series!

THANK YOU CHARLY COX FOR A STELLAR WORK OF ART!! PLEASE CONTINUE TO GRACE US WITH MORE NOVELS... CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE!!
Love these characters and really enjoyed this story. I can usually figure out "who done it" but not this time. My only negative was that I missed The Toy Box because I have it next on my Audible account. Now I know how that one ends. I'll be more careful next time. I highly recommend this book!
Just enough characters in the story to make each credible, yet not too many to be confused. Author Charly Cox does a great job in giving each of them personality so I can identify with them. Suspense is well worthy of the best writers I read. About once per year I find a book or series that I make note to read again in a year or so. Same time next year I will be reading the Alyssa Wyatt series again !
