Ronon dropped into the chair beside Radek, his water in his hand. “Dead world. Nobody lives there, but somebody dialed New Athos three times.” He took a gulp of his water. “Where’d they come from? If nobody lives there and they dialed New Athos three times, but nowhere else, those are our guys.”

“I don’t see…” Woolsey began.

“They came from a hive ship,” Teyla put in. “It is the logical conclusion. The ship remained in orbit around an uninhabited world while the Darts attacked New Athos. Once they had what they sought they returned through the gate and rejoined the hive ship. They did not dial anywhere else, and they are not still there.”

“Three times?”

Teyla nodded. “Once to scout, once to send the message that lured us to New Athos, and once to seize… their prize.” She could not quite bring herself to say, ‘to seize Rodney.’ That was too raw.

John sat up straight, his eyes meeting Woolsey’s down the table. “If we get a jumper and go back…”

Woolsey frowned. “What will that give you?”

Radek glanced from one to the other, addressing himself to John rather than Woolsey. “The hive ship has certainly opened a hyperspace window. We did not detect them in orbit and they have had three days to go anywhere they wish. I do not think there is more information we can gain on M40-P36.”

John’s hands opened and closed in frustration. “We have to,” he began tiredly.

“We have to find another means of intelligence,” Woolsey said.

“Rodney…”

“We will find Dr. McKay,” Woolsey said. “But if there’s no more information to be had this way, we need to find another way.”

Finito il primo libro della serie Legacy, mi sono buttato sul secondo con avida voglia di leggere le avventure di Atlantis nella galassia di Pegasus. La storia di questo secondo libro tiene col fiato sospeso, risveglia lo spirito avventuroso celato dentro ogni persona.
Dopo la conclusione della serie e l'interruzione anche di Stargate Universe, l'universo è diventato un posto più noioso. Lo spirito dell'avventura e dell'esplorazione continua però grazie a questi libri della Legacy Series. Ora mi butto sul terzo libro !! E' bello sapere che sono 6 i libri e non sono nemmeno a metà. Vorrei non finissero mai

Oh my the Legacy Series is continuing to be a thoroughly entertaining read.
This really does feel like it would have translated so well to be the *official* Sixth Season of Altantis.

So, Rodney has been kidnapped by the Wraith & converted into one of the them! This is literally the inverted story of how Michael was converted into a Human way back in Season 2 & its effectively written well but our dear Rodney McKay isn't giving up the fight in his subconscious, just a little tease for you all.

What I am utterly enjoying is the day to day goings on in Atlantis.
Its a great contrast between the *Search for Mckay* storyline with our main team members whilst people from Dick Woolsey to newest members of the Expedition like Eva Robinson are still trying to adjust to Life in the Great City of the Ancients plus the continued dealings with the Genii who refuse to trust & shun Women in their Society.
Even side stories like adapting & repairing the City to its newest planetary home feel well thought-out.

The only reason this isn't a full 5-Star rating is I am waiting to see how how the whole story plays out. As in my previous revew of Book 1 I am completely disregarding other different books I have set aside in my room for this.
Book 3 has been dispatched to me today (hurry up tomorrow) whilst I've ordered *another* 2 SG-1 Novels from the US Amazon page as well.

I'm on a real Stargate Binge I tell you readers...
damn you Teenage Years of too much TV!

As a follow-on from the end of the television series, I thought it was brilliant and kept you on the edge of your seat from the word go. You caught up with all the main characters. and I already knew in advance that my favourite character, (Dr. Rodney McKay), was going to get kidnapped and ultimately turned into a Wraith, and that Todd (aka also known now as Guide), may or may not have had a hand in the kidnapping somewhere along the way. Being presented with some new Wraith characters also was a brilliant idea, as well as the part of the story line involving the Genii and their double dealings again.

I would definitely pick this up, or get it on your kindle or whatever the case maybe, but a few things first:

1 ) Start by watching the full series, this really picks up after series 5 of Atlantis finishes up.
2 ) Helps if you have seen SG1.
3 ) Start by reading the first book.
4 ) You are probably going to want to read the full series, that's all six books, just letting you know as each book ends in a cliffhanger of sorts and you will want to continue.
5 ) All six books are now available.
6 ) Sometimes the language is a wee bit off, but it shouldn't take away from your overall enjoyment of the series.

So with all of that in mind. Do enjoy.

I've been a fan of the majority of the Stargate Atlantis books, but I'm afraid I can't recommend the legacy series. The first book (Homecoming) is slow and Rodney McKay in particular is out of character. The Lost does not improve the series.

The plot is slow, and the more of the characterisations are poor; now there are sections where Sheppard, as well as McKay, acts strangely. Some dialogue just doesn't have the voice of the character. There are some plot points that are decent, in particular the Genii plot line, but overall the book is far too slow paced.

I am also not a fan of the Sheppard/Teyla ship and this book puts the two characters in a relationship.
