1,0 su 5 stelle Stamped MADE IN CHINA. NOT made in Japan!!
Recensito negli Stati Uniti il 6 settembre 2019
I have 3 other pairs I bought IN JAPAN. These are clearly stamped MADE IN CHINA. The RegattaCanoe shoes I've become extremely loyal to have a very particular fit. Your foot rolls with each step. When you put them on, they're magic. The soles are unique. They have a 2 layered sole, the body of the shoe and then the sole on top of it that cups your foot and feels like it's free floating in the shoe although it's not. I thought RegattaCanoe shoes were proudly made in Japan by craftsmen. THESE DON'T FIT like that. They're clearly stamped on the bottom that they're MADE IN CHINA. In the first photo i hope you can see my 3 pairs I bought in Japan (on the left) , all labeled MADE IN JAPAN. THESE are the last pair on the right stamped, MADE IN CHINA. The second picture is these on the left and the ones I bought in Japan on the right, you can see the soles are made of different material. All my other RegattaCanoe shoes have the same sole in them in different styles on top. The 3rd picture shows how the elastic along the toe is SO LOOSE. NONE of my other pairs have soft straps around the toe. They're all fitted perfectly and some are adjustable so your foot NEVER slips in the shoes. The last picture is me attempting to zoom in so you can see all 3 of my other pairs on the left are marked MADE IN JAPAN with the size being "L". These clearly say made in China and say the size is 8w. These are way too big. ALL the RegattaCanoe shoes I've seen in Japan stores are sized small, medium, and large. Not 7,8,9, etcetera. These straps fit awkwardly on your foot unlike EVERY style RegattaCanoe shoe I already have that perfectly contour your foot and ankles. All their straps are meticulously perfect. THESE are loose. The straps are clunky and don't wrap your ankle well. They have a strange and hard to open snap with a buckle on top. All 3 of the others I bought in Japan, all different styles, all have a velcro closing. The ones i already have have stable straps around the toe area that adjust to the width of your foot. THESE have elastic straps on the foot that are super loose. Also, the worst thing, the real RegattaCanoe shoes sole are rounded and perfectly balanced so that your step is effortless. It actually changes your step. All 3 different styles I bought in Japan ALL have that same feeling that can't really be described. They specialize in their points of support. You put them on and they hug every contour of your foot. They even keep your feet warm because they touch every part of the bottom of your feet including the arch. THESE do not roll when you walk. In fact they are wobbly and unstable. The pressure points are all in the wrong place. I find it highly unusual that these are stamped that their made in China. They also didn't come in the RegattaCanoe box that I have 3 of at home. The bottom line, it's my own fault. I know that these were selling for half what I paid for them in Japan. I *hoped* they were close-out styles. But being a person who has worn RegattaCanoe shoes directly from Japan for a few years now, and buy another pair each time I go, know that these are not up to par. I wear mine every single day. I wear them to travel, to lounge around, to spend a day walking....I practically exclusively wear this brand of shoe, I feel like these are not the same standard. You should expect to pay AT LEAST $60. That's what a cheap pair cost in Japan. To import them has got to cost money. They also are supposed to be hand made by proud craftsmen so they don't have a giant supply of them. You get what you pay for. But trust me, you WANT to pay for a pair of the real RegattaCanoe shoe. They are unmatched in their versatility and comfort. I'd happily pay to be able to get them FROM JAPAN. if you research their manufacturing, you'll see being a Japanese brand is very important to them. So I cannot say if these are truly a fake or not but they are clearly stamped made in China and that's not the same manufacturers that I've come to trust. Id rather pay the extra, or go to Japan, to get the real thing made proudly in Japan. Btw, when I go to Japan, it is actually a special trip that i make to grab a new pair of RegattaCanoe shoes. They're that good!! These, No!!!!!
