‘Amazing!... I was absolutely blown away. Twists and turns and so much suspense.’ ☆☆☆☆☆ Reader Review
No one can love a son like his mother…
Patricia Mullner is trapped in a nightmare no parent should ever experience. Three years ago, 17-year-old son Andrew vanished without trace. There was no note, no goodbye and no body has ever been found, and now her days are spent in a fog of heartache and alcohol, crying to husband Thomas about their lost boy.
But Patricia is more than just a grieving mother, and as Andrew’s disappearance starts to unravel the perfect family she’s built with Thomas, it seems that the actions of her past may be back to haunt her.
Because someone is watching from the shadows - someone who knows exactly what Patricia is hiding. Someone who will stop at nothing to take revenge – and might just hold the key to Andrew’s disappearance…
An absolutely gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist in the tale. Readers of My Lovely Wife, KL Slater and B.A. Paris will not be able to put this one down.

Ive never known so many words being said without getting anywhere.
You get a chapter written from the angle of the couple in the story, then you get the same things repeated in another chapter from the wife’s perspective and then exactly the same for a chapter from the husband’s perspective, and so it goes on and on and on. It even gets worse as two more characters are introduced and we then have to have chapters dedicated to their ramblings too.
I skipped tens of pages at a time and missed nothing, the ending was dull and I don’t know why I bothered getting to the end. That’s a few wasted hours of my life I’ll never get back.
If you like to be bored rigid, feel patronised by having the same points repeated endlessly as though you’re too simple to realise useless padding when you see it, then this is the book for you.
Mine went straight in the bin as I wouldn’t inflict such needless tedium on anyone else, not even my worse enemy.

The storyline of this book was non-existent. I kept turning the pages expecting something to happen but got to the end and nothing did.
There was no likeable characters in this book. Not one. In fact, every single one of them was a bit of a psycho who had underlying mental health issues.
The book wasn't well-written. I'm unsure if the author was trying to fill pages and draw the story out longer because the whole thing is repetitive. Whole paragraphs are used over and over again! One sentence could be talking about a dog, the next about something entirely different. It just didnt make sense in places. The son forgives his mother, loves her ...but on the next line calls her evil and hates her. The husband doesnt like the person his wife is, considers leaving her... and loves her
Theres an instance of animal cruelty in this book combined with crude language which isnt really necessary to the plot.
Maybe the general idea around the book could have been a good one but it was poorly executed and I wont be reading anything else by JA Andrews.
Two stars.
