Heather is a Mother to two sons, Theo and Finn and wife to Liam who works for Parliament. The book starts in 2023 then goes back ten years to 2013.
Heather is literally bringing Theo and Finn up single- handedly due to Liam's work committments and Heather is at the end of her tether.
One late evening when Liam finally returns home Heather overhears a telephone conversation between Liam and a woman and catches a sentence "You will have to tell her." This makes Heather suspicious and an arguement erupts which ends up with Liam sleeping downstairs on the couch.
Unbeknown to Heather who has stomped upstairs to bed that this would be the last time she would see Liam alive. Heather has taken sleeping pills in order to sleep and wakes up with her two little boys to find Liam dead and she is charged with his murder.
After serving a ten-year sentence, Heather has been released and is on a mission to clear her name and to get her two young sons, Theo and Finn back.
At every point of trying to find who has framed her for the murder of Liam, Heather faces peril every step she takes in her quest for the truth.

Is 'unputdownable' a word? Because that's how I'd describe this book. This book took me all of 5 hours to read, in long stints unlike any I've been able to manage with any other book recently. Has this book finally been the one to cure my reading slump? We'll find out, but it's looking promising.
The Mother is the first full-length thriller I've read in years, and it won't be the last as I'll be stocking up on some of T.M. Logan's other books as soon as I'm paid. This book had me hooked from start to finish, with my boyfriend even commenting on how engrossed I was, and had a twist that I didn't see coming (like, at all). If you read thrillers, or even if you don't, I urge you to read this book as it may well be the best thriller I've ever read.

And this is where I stop, I hate spoilers, just take my word for it. This is one of the best books I've read, enjoy.

This book has you eagerly turning the pages to find out what further shocks await you next.
Heather Vernon has been framed for the murder of her husband (a very popular MP). She is released from prison early, but has missed out on seeing her two little boys growing up and worse still she is not allowed any access to them at all. She meets a woman called Jodie in a hostel and although their worlds are far apart they form a very strong friendship. Jodie is determined to help Heather find out who killed her Husband and they eventually join forces with a journalist ( who also tried to find out the truth) and Heather's sister-in-law, all coming together to find out who really killed her husband.
Heather has guts and sheer determination and will not stop at anything to find out the truth and get her boys back in to her life.
Throughout the whole book I had no clue as to who the killer was, so the last few chapters came as a shock. I really did not see that coming.
The book is expertly written (as always) keeps the reader engrossed and causes many late nights and late mornings!!! I could not possibly say that this book was TM Logans best one as I have loved them all, but if you love thrillers then this is for you. Oh and lovely short chapters, just what I like.
