E' un romanzo che sembra scorra bene e tu hai già quasi capito tutto, e poi viene tutto capovolto e si arriva alla resa dei conti! Davvero una sorpresa! Ma si aveva una vaga impressione? ?
Molto avvincente.

Libro ben scritto con finale non scontato ma anche non particolarmente originale. In ogni caso si fa leggere bene fino alla fine. Vale certamente il prezzo.

Old friends, Megan and Chloe decide to share a house and find the perfect place, the downside is they can’t really afford it. Their landlord suggests getting a third person for the spare room, to help with the rent.
They choose Sammi, fashion writer and gourmet cook, who seems perfect.

Things don’t go perfectly to plan however, Megan is having problems with her love life and Chloe begins to experience sleeping problems; her old night terrors and sleep walking reappear, causing her to become tired and stressed at work.

On top of this, they are not totally sure about Sammi. Under the surface, she seems a little secretive and strange.

The book is also interspersed with the story of a young girl, a child of about 10. At first, she seems to be a lonely, neglected child, who is treated in a borderline abusive way by her mother. As the story unfolds, this becomes darker and more complex issues arise.

There is a bit of a surprise near the end of the book, which threw my theories of where the story was going out somewhat.
It was a well written book and a decent, unexpected ending.

I could not put this book down. I found myself getting to the end pretty quickly and it stuck with me all night. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

I guessed some things that were going on but I enjoyed it anyway and felt chilled to the bone at certain points.

The characters were all believable and at times likeable but flawed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere built up throughout the story.

Great work from the author!

Chloe and Megan have been friends for years. They want to rent the perfect house together but can’t quite afford the rent. They find Sammi to rent the spare room to. On the surface she seems perfect!

Sammi seems to be hiding some secrets and strange things start happening.

The story is written from the point of view of Megan, Chloe and an unidentified girl in the past.

A few nice little twists and well developed characters.

I would have liked a little more about Sammi at the end of the book.

Overall, a great read!

An excellent story that is very chilling.

Best friends Chloe and Megan find the rent to their flat a little expensive. They decide to take in a third girl, named Samantha Charlesworth, who calls herself Sammi. The new tenant seems charming, but flaws in the relationship start to show themselves. Possessions start to go missing and tensions start to rise.

Narrated by three people, Chloe, Megan and an unnamed six year old psychopath who is delighted when she is asked by her teacher to look after a new student, a French girl named Anouk. They quickly become best friends. Who is this this mysterious little girl? Is it Sammi, Megan, Chloe? How will the actions of the six year old impact on the events of the present day with the three flatmates?

This story keeps the reader guessing until the final chapter, when the identity of the six year old is revealed and how the strange events in the flat were carried out.

Most enjoyable.

I often find that unless a book really draws me in within the first 2 chapters, I either abandon it all together or I slowly drag myself through the chapters until it does. This book gripped me straight away. I love how the author writes from different perspectives and although I guessed the twist, I still found it so enjoyable and intriguing. The charcters are likeable and easy to relate to...(well, most lol)
I actually think this would make a great thriller movie. Really enjoyable read!
