Wow, wow, wow! I read this book in less than 10 hours and I am not a fast reader! I am a huge fan of Kat Diamond’s Grey and Miles series so I had great expectations of this stand-alone but did not expect to be completely blown away by it. I literally could not put it down. So clever, partly written in the first person which adds to the twists and turns in the plot. This book literally took me to the Devon seaside, I could feel the warmth of the heatwave (as I live near Manchester this usually requires a great imagination!) as I was transported back to a Devon family holiday in 1976. I quickly got to know the characters - or thought I had and couldn’t wait to read what happened next. “What happened next” was completely unexpected right to the end and I found myself hoping it would all be alright. Anybody who has read Kat’s books will know it doesn’t always do to invest emotion in your favourite characters as her books are realistic rather than relying on happy endings but I fell for this main character and wanted that perfect solution. The ending does leave things open and I sincerely hope there is more to come.......over to you Kat 😊

Another amazing gripping read from katerina. This novel has you hooked as soon as you open it. The ending is brilliant. I loved the twists at the end . I wasn't expecting what happened in the end . Truly amazing read. Really recommend this.

Surely this load of tosh is written by a teenager, for teenagers? Actually, sorry, that could well be an insult to teenagers.

What a total load of rubbish this is, from the half-baked characters to the clunky dialogue that I can't even bring myself to trawl through to type out some of the worst 'gems' for fear my laptop will explode. As for being marketed as a thriller - I could probably get my money back under the trade descriptions act.

I gave up on this, of course, but usually have a policy of only reviewing books I have read at least 100 pages of to be fair to the author. Well, I got to page 83, realised exactly who the kidnapper/killer was, turned to the end, discovered I was right and hurled this load of nonsense straight into the bin. However, I decided to save some of you £7.99 anyway. Go spend your money on something more useful such a bumper pack of diet H2O.

As the headline says, this is yet another excellent read. As Katerina’s first stand alone thriller it ticks all the boxes. It starts quietly and builds chapter by chapter. Each chapter is like a flower opening, finally revealing the truth of what’s been covered up inside. I wait with baited breath for her next release.

Wow!!! Just finished it, you are in for a treat
Was a bit concerned as loved the Miles and Grey series but no need to be - Heatwave was excellent twists and turns all the way draws you in from the very beginning and every time you think I’ll just read to the end of the chapter, you get there and you have to carry on to the next
5*+ read again thank you Kat Diamond
