Clan Baknu pulls out all the stops to convince the Rossis that they can find love and happiness among the Kalquorians. They dare death to keep Gabriel out of the grasp of a murderous crime lord, who won’t stop until the Earther is his. Yet their greatest challenge is showing Gabriel dreams can come true…if he’ll accept their love.

Story is solid, well written, all normal for the series. Maybe a bit too quick from first encounter to consummation for my liking…
However the greatest problem is that chronologically this is at the end of Kalquorian time and beginning of Earther kidnappings but story of Iliona is not continued in any previous books!!! And she sales as such an amazing person. And there isn’t a clan good for her that can be tied into the story of after Earth annihilation! How annoying!!!!

Another great addition to the series. I love this whole universe, and hope to see more clan companions progress along the timeline, as well as more clan beginnings. More more more 🖤

If you love Tracey's other books, I would highly recommend this one. It is perhaps also one of few which can be read out of order of the main series.

Impersonal shenanigans

I'll be honest.
I chose this read because I was in the mood for lots of shenanigans with a bit of story in between.
But quantity and quality are two very different things.

Overall, however, this is a passable read. Gabriel and his sister are hiding from the fanatic Earth government on a remote space station. But then a Kalquorian clan shows up and they're immediately enchanted by Gabriel. So they start their seduction pretty much right away. But there's also a villain lurking in the shadows who's objective it is to kidnap and enslave Gabriel.
So the story is entertaining and fast-paced. The POV switches between Gabriel, the guys in his clan, and even the bad-guy. So far so good.

What wasn't good was the impersonal encounters. It almost appeared mechanical because of all the different body parts shoved and sucked and whatnot. But hey, foursomes are probably hard to write, what with all the limbs involved. But what really put me off was the rape-y feel to many of the encounters. Gabriel is drugged with an aphrodisiac, he's cuffed and held down and without further ado, effed within an inch of his life.
I know this isn't supposed to depict anything close to reality, it's a fantasy, escapism. But I think the author meant to make it hot, it was meant to be completely consensual and enjoyable for all parties. Instead, Gabriel came across as being coerced and used. Not until he and his sister agreed to come along to Kalquor did the shenanigans actually start to include some emotion.

So if you're looking for steam with some story, this isn't it. But it was entertaining all the same.

I really liked this book. Gabriel and his sister are in hiding from humans and don't want to bring attention to themselves. When his sister is approached by a clan on behalf of another clan, they don't want to be separated, but they also are afraid of what the human government will think if they get found out. The human government has become very strict and expects all humans to follow specific moral guidelines or they face severe, sometimes fatal, punishment. When the clan shows an interest in Gabriel, he is afraid of giving in, but also afraid of what it means for his sister. Will she have to accept the other clan, even if she doesn't like them? How long does the arm of the human government reach? And what about the sex trader who has been desperate to have Gabriel? There are a lot of different parts to this story. I kind of feel like the sex trader aspect could have been left out. There was enough drama going on without it. I'm glad that Gabriel realized that he was worthy of love and affection. I just wish that his place in the clan was resolved. Apparently, there isn't legal standing for human males withing their society. Perhaps that will be figured out later on in the series.
