Excellent start to this disturbing, psychological thriller. Short, punchy sentences draw the reader into the storyline straight away and it’s fine writing. Unfortunately, for me anyway, the plot runs away with itself and the last third of the book does not reflect the taut beginning. Also, there are some threads that require clarification- i e why the perpetrator did what he did, who drove the car responsible for the accident and did the perpetrator abduct three family members or were they coerced.
What is revealed in the storyline is abduction and the grim consequences of this crime. The abductor cannot be identified and there is a connection to a young woman, Lena, who disappeared some 13 years previously: a clever, twisty idea.
The characters are mainly interesting particularly Hannah, who has Asperger Syndrome and highlights the super qualities some of these suffers have.
Certainly an author to look out for and I would recommend this. Lost a star for disappointing finale.

I may have read too many similar thrillers for this to get a higher rating from me. I think the big thing is that I just didn’t care for any of the characters. At all. And there seemed to be so much going on that all kinda exploded in the last few chapters. And it was all too much.
A lot of the reveals went actually that great. Because of the amount of info throughout, I kinda forgot about certain facts. I was also left with a couple of questions unanswered. It just seemed like a lot all in one go but I didn’t care at the same time?
I will say, I enjoyed the last part about Lena, it was very beautiful. It’s a great book for any thriller reader who wants a ‘trapped’ fiction book. For me, I’ve read better, or maybe just saw it all coming?
