I personaggi sono chiari con personalità distinte e realistiche. Le situazioni emozionanti.
Secondo me però Erika deve essere sempre in prima linea, altrimenti si abbassa l'interesse.
Attendo il prossimo episodio...con ansia..!!!

As the investigation progresses it soon emerges that other attacks by a dark coated figure wearing a gas masked have happened in the area so Erika and her team must track the perpetrator down before any more can be carried out.
I love the feisty, determined, no nonsense side to Erika but with the hospitalization of her father in law we also get to see her vulnerable and caring side too.
With the team all back together, Peterson returns after his sick leave, McGorry is still there and Moss playing a bigger role than before this is one totally engrossing and brilliantly constructed thriller and jeez what an ending - never in a month of Sunday's did I see that coming.
Absolutely LOVED this novel- Another winner from the brilliant and highly successful author Robert Bryndza - great to have Erika back and so look forward to more of her and the team in the future.
Most certainly a highly recommended read.
It’s Christmas in Erika’s world just after the events of Cold Blood. On the way to Christmas lunch, she passes a rather snowy crime scene and Erika being Erika has to stop and get involved even though it’s her day off. And what a can of worms she’s about to get herself involved in! It is not the season for good will to all!!
The whole gas mask disguise is totally sinister. It reminded me of the episodes of Doctor Who The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances where Christopher Eccleston with companions Billie Piper and John Barrowman encounter individuals with gas masks fused to their faces in Blitz ridden London. They freaked me out and this creepy guy tormenting people sent shivers down my spine because of that!
Deadly Secrets is yet another pacey crime thriller. I was addicted to this read, devouring it rapidly! It hit my kindle Friday morning, I finished it as the sun was rising on Saturday morning. This chilling case is an excellent addition to the series and as the title suggests, secrets definitely can be deadly!
None of the books I’ve read from this series have been anything short of brilliant. Erika Foster is simply a fantastic female lead. You just know your days are numbered if she’s hunting you! She’s totally believable as a character and you can’t help but admire and love her dogged determination.
It was fantastic to see Moss stand up to Erika’s role and prove herself but I missed Peterson. I felt his role had diminished significantly in this book and could’ve had a bit more presence. As for Erika, we’re finally seeing her put some of her demons to rest. How this will affect her character going forward will be interesting as she’s always used the hurt and anger to spur her onwards.
All in all this is a brilliant read!
I have so enjoyed being embroiled in the world of Erika Foster and all the other detectives on her team. I was unsure at first of the level that her life was portrayed but as the books progressed I wanted more and more for her to get a happy ever after and to be settled before we left her. Bryndza alluded at the end of the book that there may be more to come for her, which is excellent as I didn’t feel like we have wrapped up her story just yet. Although, I’m sceptical as to when this may be as he’s moved onto a different detective now and there doesn’t seem to be any Erika Foster books in the pipeline. I’ll just have to keep hoping.
We certainly had the story splinter into many fractions in this book and even saw Moss play a more pivotal role. We have only really touched on hers and Peterson’s lives in the periphery, but they are both getting more staring roles as the books developed.
The investigation in this book did seem a little secondary to the story. Towards the end, I was beginning to think it was going to be rushed to conclude just to get it over and done with; however, I wasn’t disappointed, and it was tied up satisfactorily.
Bryndza certainly is a very talented writer and knows how to grip the reader with his stories. This book had more intrigue than the others as we aren’t aware of who the killer is throughout as we have been in the past books. This really kept the suspense alive as it could have been anyone. It gave the book a very different feel to the others in the series, but this didn’t make it any less enjoyable. In fact, I think I read this a little quicker because of this, and I had wanted to read it slower to savour the last book.
I’m gutted to have read them all but looking forward to any books that Bryndza brings out in the future as you know they are always going to be of high calibre!
