The Dark Ages Clan Novel Saga is a 13-volume series of novels set in the world of Dark Ages: Vampire, released by White Wolf from 2002 to the end of 2004. The series begins with Dark Ages Clan Novel 1: Nosferatu and ends with Dark Ages Clan Novel 13: Tzimisce. Inspired by the original modern-day Clan Novel Saga for Vampire: The Masquerade, this series begins with the end of the original Vampire: The Dark Ages era and continued into the time-frame of Dark Ages: Vampire.
The 13 novels are written from the POV of one clan each during the turbulence that swept through the mortal and Cainite societies of Europe following the fall of Constantinople in the Fourth Crusade. These novels, unlike the original Clan Novel Series, are chronological, happening one after the other rather than overlapping.
Dark Ages Clan Novel #5 Lasombra:
The Fate of the Second Rome
The situation in Constantinople has degenerated into sheer chaos, as vampires of every stripe prey on the ruined metropolis. Lucita, the young envoy of Clan Lasombra, is caught in the middle and cut off from her elders in Europe. Alone, she faces the impossible task of making the city her own, lest she become another victim in the War of Princes.
Dark Ages: Lasombra continues the epic thirteen-part series of Dark Ages Clan Novels, chronicling a vast conflict among the vampires of the Middle Ages.
“Reading The Devil’s in the Flaws and Other Dark Truths is a wild experience. Some of the tales are short, some a bit longer. The settings and plots pendulum from gritty realism to hyper-surreal. But the thread that runs through them all is David Niall’s Wilson uncanny ability to draw you into his world and render you helpless to look away no matter how uncomfortable you get. I absolutely loved this collection.” --Jonathan Janz, Author of Marla and The Siren and the Specter

There are monsters roaming the desert and menacing the roads. There are sorcerers, harlots, and gamblers rampant in the city. In a compound in a forest, at the base of a mountain, one man and his family have received a prophecy. There will be a reckoning. There will be a flood. They will survive, but only if they obey the prophecy. Only if they build an ark, where there is no water. Only if they gather all of the creatures of the world. Only if they are faithful. Everyone else? Well, they're going to die.
This is a book of prophecy and revelation, heroism and love. It is a very old story with a new twist. It is a very human story, drawing together the creatures of the heavens and the earth. This is not your mother's Noah, and it is not the Bible's Ark... and yet it is. Welcome to an alternate history where your only hope is not to miss the boat.
Four teenagers, Weaver, Cami, Shooter and Combo, come together with a mutual desire to make things better, to help those who need it and punish those who deserve it. When Shooter’s old friend Mikey approaches them, concerned over his brother Dale’s connections with a gang called Los Escorpiones, they organize and become something stronger than their separate parts. The city is in danger from a threat it doesn’t even know exists. All that stands in the way of disaster is a group of “Hoods.”
Only persistence, luck, and the power of his own will can see him through to his goal, and any mistake could mean his destruction.
Just after the Civil War, a preacher named Gideon Swayne journeyed south from Random, Illinois to minister to the newly freed slaves. In the bitter prejudice of North Carolina, and the magic of the Great Dismal Swamp, he made a home... that home was taken from him in hatred, and in violence.
The Pope plantation is mired in the "old ways," migrants work their land so they don't have to get their hands too dirty. There are older ways than the Pope family, built on slave-labor and mired in their own past can imagine. Their farm hand, Gideon has seen his mother’s reflection in the slime-pools of the bog. He’s heard his great-grandfather, the first Gideon at Preacher’s Marsh, chanting on the night breeze. He has seen eyes, glowing green and glittering with hatred, lining the trees along the fields and peering from the trees. He has heard voices like drumbeats chanting in the night. The dead are rising, and they are coming. Soon.
Gideon's curse is a novel of history. It's a novel of freedom, slavery, magic and romance. It's a glance into the violent past of the deep south, and the hope of a better future.
Krump Enterprises, run by Ronald Krump and his assistant, Race Scanlon, have begun a systematic takeover of the city, spreading rumors about immigrant violence, tearing down horse farms to build a country club, blackmailing the mayor, and much, much worse.
It's up to Police Chief Hannity, Doctor Abner Brody, a reporter named Lauren Kelly, a stoner named Walt, and Frederick Douglass, time traveler, to track down the truth, and stop Krump before the city falls under his sway, and even darker days prevail.
